Claid alternatives

Claid alternatives for clothing brands

We make Uwear, so treat it as our pick and check the sources. For a clothing brand shooting a full collection, Uwear is the Claid alternative we recommend: the same saved cast and art direction across runs of up to 10,000 images, Automations that start when new clothing arrives, an optional AI reviewer that costs no credits, one team workspace on a shared credit pool, and a REST API and MCP server. Claid fits better when a developer is building a general product-image pipeline, or when most of the catalog is not clothing. The other tools here were compared on their published pages, not tested hands-on, and every claim about them is sourced and dated at the bottom.

Quick answer

For clothing brands shooting full collections on a consistent cast, our pick is Uwear, and we make it. It reuses saved models and one art direction across batches of up to 10,000 images, with Automations and an optional reviewer at no credit cost; a 2K photo is $0.50. Claid is cheaper per image; stay with it if your catalog is mostly not clothing or developers own the pipeline. Otherwise: FASHN for endpoints, Botika for retouching, WearView for one plan.

Disclosure: Uwear makes one of the tools on this page. The others were compared on their published pages, cited and dated below, not tested hands-on.

Respect the strength

What Claid does well

Claid has been building generative AI since 2018 and reports more than 10,000 customers and 200 million images edited. It is a broad ecommerce image stack: more than 20 image and video operations, from background removal and upscaling to product scenes, AI fashion models and image-to-video, which can be chained into one API call and run as batch or asynchronous jobs with webhooks. For apparel, it turns flat lays and ghost mannequin shots into on-model photos up to 4K, swaps model faces to localize a shoot, offers more than 100 synthetic models, and accepts your own model images. Customer stories include Kasta, Rappi and Zepto, and a custom-solutions team builds and runs workflows on contract. If most of what you sell is not clothing, or a developer on your team is building the pipeline, it may be the right place to stay.[1][2][5][6][10]

The reasons in the documentation

Why clothing brands look for an alternative

  • The cast is something you pass in on every call. The AI Fashion Models API takes up to five garment images and an optional model image; without one, a random suitable model is chosen. Pose and background are free text per request, and there is no documented setting for output resolution.[7][8]
  • Checking is mostly yours on self-serve. Claid’s own lookbook guide makes curation a production step: remove images with changes in the model’s identity and garments that no longer match the source product. An image-checks stage appears in its example API pipeline, and QA inside managed work is a custom contract.[10][6][2]
  • Web and API credits are two separate pools with separate pricing, and one cannot be spent on the other. A team that works in the app and also integrates the API buys both.[4]
  • Batch processing, brand kits and 4K sit on the Pro and Business web plans; Essentials is up to 2K. The API defaults to 4 requests a second and 120 a minute, the fashion endpoint to 1 generation a second, and volume pricing, higher limits and custom workflows go through sales.[3][4][7]
  • No MCP server is documented. The API documentation index lists image editing, AI Edit, AI Fashion Models, image generation, backgrounds, image-to-video and storage connectors, and no MCP server.[9]

The alternatives

Six tools, the same five questions.

What each fits, what it accepts, whether it does video, whether it has an API, and what the first dollar buys. Uwear is listed first as our pick for clothing brands shooting full collections, and described from our own use; we make it. Every other row cites the vendor's published pages, each with the date it was read. Page last updated October 28, 2026.

Uwear

Our pick for clothing brands shooting full collections on a consistent cast (we make it)

Our pick, and we make it. Where Claid picks a random model unless you pass one, Uwear is fashion-only and runs the collection itself on your saved cast, with no pipeline to build. Uwear is built around the collection run rather than the single image. Save each model in your cast once, and an art direction for the set, light and framing; every garment in a run reuses both. Batches go up to 10,000 images, and Automations start a run on their own when new clothing finishes processing or a watched tag is added. An optional AI reviewer, at no credit cost, compares each photo with its product photo and the saved model and writes the reason for each rejection; retries are opt-in and cost the same as a new photo. Back and detail views are camera edits of the approved photo, meaning the approved photo re-framed rather than generated again. A 2K photo is 5 credits, $0.50, on Gemini 2.1, the default model, with the estimate for the run shown before it starts and no subscription, so a drop costs what the drop costs. Runs start from Studio, the REST API, or ChatGPT, Claude and Codex through the Uwear MCP server. There is no fidelity guarantee: there is the check, the opt-in retry and the approval queue.[11][12][13][14][15][16][17]

FASHN

Developer teams that want fashion-specific endpoints instead of a general image API

If you are leaving Claid because it is general, FASHN is the fashion-only version of the same build-it-yourself model: product-to-model, virtual try-on on its own model, AI models from a description, image-to-video and agent editing, all available through an API. App plans run from Basic at $19 a month for 200 credits to Agency at $99 for 1,500 plus 100 a day, images up to 4K, video at 720p on Basic and 1080p above, and API credits from $0.075 on demand. These pages publish no review step; the pipeline, and the checking, are yours to build.[18][19]

Photoroom

Mixed catalogs where clothing is one category and the team wants an app, not a pipeline

The closest swap if Claid is mostly your general product editor: background tools, AI backgrounds and AI Fashion Models in one app, on Pro (8,000 AI credits), Max (25,000) or Ultra (75,000). Fashion generations are capped by resolution: Pro allows 1,600 at 1K and none at 2K, Max 5,000 at 1K and 185 at 2K, Ultra 15,000, 555 at 2K and 310 at 4K. The Virtual Model API takes flat lays or ghost mannequin shots, offers more than 12 preset models or your own brand models for a consistent identity, and runs quality checks before output. Check the 2K cap against your catalog before you move.[20][21]

Botika

Brands that want people, not a pipeline, to retouch the results

The opposite of Claid’s build-it-yourself model: plans include human retouch rounds, two per photo on Pro yearly plans and three on Advanced, with photo fixes delivered in one to two days. Pro is 2K with a limited model selection; Advanced adds 4K, the full model library and team collaboration; exclusive models built for your brand and white-glove quality control are Enterprise items. A photo is 1 credit and a video 5. The public help center covers pricing, tutorials, models and delivery, with no article on an API, SDK or webhooks.[22][23][24]

WearView

Small brands that want stills, try-on, ghost mannequin and video in one plan

For a small brand that left Claid because it wanted fashion tools in an app, not operations in an API: product-to-model, virtual try-on, model creation from text, consistent models across a collection, pose control, ghost mannequin removal, model swap and video. Lite is $29 a month for 50 credits ($24 billed yearly), Pro $49 for 200, Advanced $99 for 500; an HD image is 2 credits, 2K 3, 4K 5, and video starts on Pro. API access is on request, and the homepage describes no batch or review step.[25][26]

Pixelcut

A cheaper general toolbox for sellers who need a few on-model shots

The same general-toolbox shape as Claid’s web app at a lower price: Pro is $10 a month ($8 billed yearly) with 600 AI credits, 1,000 batch exports and a three-person team, Business $30 ($24 yearly) with 3,600 credits and ten seats. Product Studio’s On Model format places an item on an AI model or a ready-made persona, up to 4K, with bulk tools for whole folders and an API for stores and apps. No saved cast, saved direction or review step is published.[27][28]

Decision guide

How to choose

  1. 1

If clothing is the catalog and it ships as collections, start with Uwear: one saved cast and one saved art direction on every run, Automations for the garments that keep arriving, a reviewer you can switch on for every photo, and a team on one credit pool. Stay with Claid, or pick FASHN, if a developer is building the pipeline; pick Photoroom or Pixelcut if most of what you sell is not clothing.

  2. 2

Compare price at the same resolution with the model named. At 2K, Uwear’s default, Gemini 2.1 (Nano Banana 2.1), is 5 credits, $0.50 a photo, and the reviewer adds nothing. Claid does not name its image model; on the Pro web plan, which includes 2K and 4K, an AI Fashion image is 4 credits, about $0.10 month to month or $0.07 billed yearly, with no resolution breakdown, and its API is 2 credits an image, about $0.12 at the $59 pack, resolution not stated. Per image, Claid costs less. Per collection, count the takes your team throws away and the hours spent curating them.

  3. 3

Run the same twenty garments through your shortlist: prints, knits, small lettering, structured pieces and basics. Judge fidelity to the product photo, whether the same person appears across all twenty, and how many takes each accepted image cost.

  4. 4

Decide who checks a photo before it ships: your own eyes (Claid self-serve, WearView, Pixelcut), a QA stage in a pipeline you build or contract (Claid API or custom work, FASHN), human retouchers (Botika), quality checks in the API (Photoroom Virtual Model), or a reviewer and retries inside the run (Uwear).

Questions brands ask when they shortlist

Answered from the published scope and pricing cited on this page.

We make Uwear, and for a clothing brand shooting full collections it is the alternative we recommend: one saved cast and art direction across runs of up to 10,000 images, Automations that run when new clothing arrives, an optional AI reviewer that costs no credits, a team workspace on one credit pool, and a REST API and MCP server for ChatGPT, Claude and Codex. For other jobs: FASHN for a developer team that wants fashion-only endpoints, Photoroom or Pixelcut for a mixed catalog, Botika for human retouching, WearView for a small brand that wants one plan.

The reasons in Claid’s own pages: the fashion API picks a random model unless you pass a model image on every call, its lookbook guide asks you to curate out identity changes and garment mismatches yourself, web and API credits are separate pools, batch and 4K sit on the Pro plan and above, and no MCP server is documented. None of these matter if Claid is your general image pipeline; they matter when the job is a collection on one cast.

Per image, yes. At 2K, a Uwear photo on Gemini 2.1 (Nano Banana 2.1), the default model, is 5 credits, $0.50, with the reviewer adding no credits. Claid does not name its image model; an AI Fashion image on the Pro web plan is 4 credits, about $0.10 month to month or $0.07 billed yearly, and 2 API credits, about $0.12 at the $59 pack, with resolution not stated. Uwear has no subscription and no seat fee; what you pay for is the saved cast and direction, the reviewer and retries in the run, and Automations, which change how many takes a collection costs.

Uwear saves your cast and art direction in the library and applies them to every run, and the AI reviewer flags a photo that shows a different person. Photoroom’s Virtual Model API accepts custom brand models for a consistent identity. WearView lists consistent models and model creation from text. Botika offers exclusive brand models on Enterprise. Claid itself accepts a model image per request and offers more than 100 synthetic models, and tells you to check for identity changes.

Uwear has a REST API with webhooks and a remote MCP server, the connector that lets ChatGPT, Claude or Codex plan a run, show its cost and start it once you approve. FASHN sells API credits from $0.075, Photoroom has the Virtual Model API, and Pixelcut links an API for stores and apps. WearView offers API access on request. Botika’s public help center has no API article. Of these, only Uwear documents an MCP server.

When fashion is one product type among many, when a developer is chaining background removal, upscaling, scenes and on-model generation into your own pipeline, or when you want Claid’s team to build and run a custom workflow under contract. Its per-image prices are lower than Uwear’s default model, and its 20-plus operations cover jobs Uwear does not try to do.
