5. Uwear OCTON (Shopify App)
For Shopify merchants: Uwear OCTON is a Shopify app that enables shoppers with the Uwear mobile app to virtually try on your products directly in your store.
What OCTON Is
Uwear OCTON (One Click Virtual Try-On) is a Shopify app that merchants install to integrate virtual try-on functionality with their online stores. When shoppers who have the Uwear mobile app visit merchant stores, they can try on clothing products using their personal profile photos.
Privacy Protection for Shoppers
Important: Merchants never see shopper profile photos or personal images.
All virtual try-on processing happens within the Uwear app ecosystem. Shopper profile photos, face data, and generated try-on images remain completely private to the shopper and are never shared with or visible to merchants.
Data Collection from Merchants
When a merchant installs Uwear OCTON, we collect:
- β’ Store Information: Store name, URL, and contact details via Shopify API
- β’ Product Catalog: Product images, descriptions, and metadata necessary for virtual try-on
- β’ API Access Tokens: Secure tokens for Shopify integration
Anonymized Analytics for Merchants
Merchants receive only anonymized, aggregated analytics including:
- β’ Number of virtual try-on events per product
- β’ Product engagement metrics (which products are tried on most)
- β’ Conversion analytics (anonymized purchase correlations)
- β’ General usage statistics
These analytics contain zero personally identifiable information. Merchants see aggregated data like "Product X was tried on 50 times this week" but never "Customer Y tried on Product X."
Data Storage and Security
For OCTON specifically:
- β’ All merchant data is stored securely on AWS infrastructure
- β’ Product catalog data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- β’ API tokens are stored with industry-standard encryption
- β’ Access to merchant data is limited to authorized personnel only
- β’ We comply with Shopify's protected customer data requirements
Data Minimization
We adhere to strict data minimization principles:
- β’ We only collect the minimum data required for virtual try-on functionality
- β’ We do not request access to customer personal data beyond what's necessary
- β’ Product catalog access is limited to publicly visible product information
- β’ Analytics are automatically anonymized before being provided to merchants

- β’ Merchants can request data deletion through their Shopify admin
- β’ We respond to GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy law requests
- β’ Data retention periods comply with Shopify's requirements
