Studio Update: Retouch Editor Now Saves Directly to Your Project
The Retouch Editor shipped a meaningful upgrade today. Retouched images can now be saved back to the Uwear Studio as new generation results. Previously, the editor ended at download: you adjusted brightness, cropped, tweaked saturation, then got a PNG file. Getting that image back into your project meant downloading it and re-uploading it manually. That step is gone.
What Changed
The Retouch Editor has a new Save button alongside the existing Download option. When you apply edits and hit Save, the retouched image is uploaded to the platform as a new generation result linked to the original. It appears immediately in your generation grid, no page reload required.
The new workflow
- 1.Click Retouch on any generated image to open the editor.
- 2.Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, temperature, vibrance, or crop to your liking.
- 3.Click Save. The retouched image is saved as a new generation result and shown inline immediately.
The Save button activates only after at least one edit is applied, so there is no risk of accidentally saving an unmodified copy. While saving, the button shows "Saving..." and locks. On success, a "Saved to gallery" confirmation appears and the editor resets, ready for another round of edits.
Why It Matters
The old flow had a friction point that most teams worked around without thinking twice: generate, retouch, download, re-upload. Three steps became one. For teams processing dozens of catalog images at a time, that adds up quickly.
What you avoid now
- Downloading a file just to get it back into the platform
- Managing local file versions of retouched images
- Re-uploading and losing the connection to the original generation
- Hunting for the right image in your downloads folder later
The saved result stays linked to the original generation, so your project history stays coherent. You can see which image was retouched from which source, without any extra organization effort on your end.
One Thing to Know
Save to gallery works on generation results. If you open the Retouch Editor on a manually uploaded file (an image you brought into the Studio from outside), the Save button stays disabled and shows a "Save unavailable for uploads" tooltip. Download still works for those. This is a platform constraint, not a bug.
Also in This Update
The same release also shipped a Send-To toolbar in the image detail view. After reviewing any generated image, you now have one-click access to Generate (use it as input for a new generation), Edit, Upscale, or Create Video, all from the same view without navigating elsewhere.
Live in Your Studio Now
Open any generation result, click Retouch, make your edits, and save. The updated image is in your project before you close the editor.
