GPT Image 2.5 vs Gemini Pro and Seedream for Fashion

GPT Image 2.5 is our new first pick for fashion imagery, based on these first tests. High and Max both render the small CHICANE word clearly on our black sweatshirt. Gemini Pro changes the lettering; Seedream is fuzzy and only guessable. On the Gymshark T-shirt, GPT looks closer to the source fabric texture and washed color differences. But all four settings miss the fine stitch channel on the floral trousers. [5]

Three garments, four settings, 12 outputs. These are selected images from Uwear staging, reviewed on September 9. They show specific strengths and limits. The shirt prompts differ, so this is not a controlled benchmark or an overall ranking.

Does GPT Image 2.5 handle small garment lettering?

Both GPT settings produce a readable CHICANE word on the Formula 1 sweatshirt. Gemini changes the letters. Seedream’s word can be guessed, but is not clear. The source and generated details are shown at a similar feature scale. [5]

Which models did we compare?

OpenAI announced ChatGPT Images 2.5 on September 8, 2026. The Uwear settings tested here use Sunburst at High and Max. [1] [2] We compared them with Gemini Pro, also known as Nano Banana Pro, and Seedream 5.0 Pro. [3] [4]

Requested output: 2K, 9:16 for all four settings. Delivered dimensions differ. [5]

How do the models handle a dense back graphic?

The Gymshark reference combines gothic lettering, a detailed illustration, a chain and textured fabric. All four results include the main back graphic. GPT Image 2.5 looks a little closer to the source texture and washed color differences across the shirt in this set. A recognizable logo alone does not show whether those details carried across. [5]

What changes in the fabric close-up?

The tighter crops make the illustration and fabric surface easier to inspect. The GPT results look closer to the source texture here. This is a visual observation from this set, not a measured color difference or a model-wide claim. [5]

Does Max recover the fine stitching on the trousers?

Not in these results. The reference shows a pale vertical stitch channel crossing the floral print. All four outputs carry the broad pattern, but the thin channel is absent in the inspected areas. GPT Max does not solve this failure in the sample. [5]

The product reference gives the stitching more pixels than the full-body output views do. A tighter shot or a different prompt would be a separate experiment; neither was added to this comparison.

How was this comparison made?

The set contains ten existing Uwear outputs and two Seedream results generated to complete the sweatshirt and trouser cases. Within each case, the garment and avatar match across settings. Trouser prompts and ordered references match. Both shirt cases have resolved-prompt differences. [5]

Original files remain unchanged. The detail crops show the same feature at a similar visual scale in five equal panels. They are not pixel-aligned or perspective-corrected. Equal panels do not remove differences in pose, lighting or source resolution.

Automatic QA approved the eight sweatshirt and trouser results without retries. That broad check did not flag the light-stitch issue found in visual review. The Gymshark results were not given a new QA check for this comparison.

Questions about the comparison

Is GPT Image 2.5 better than Gemini Pro for fashion images?

In these selected Uwear examples, GPT Image 2.5 renders the small CHICANE word more clearly than Gemini Pro and looks closer to the Gymshark reference texture. Both miss the fine trouser stitching. Three garments and different shirt prompts cannot establish an overall model ranking. [5]

Is GPT Image 2.5 Max consistently better than High here?

This sample does not establish a consistent advantage for Max. Both settings render the small CHICANE word clearly and include the Gymshark graphic. Both miss the trouser stitch channel. Other garments or prompts may give different results. [5]

Were all four settings tested with identical prompts?

The trouser prompts and ordered input references match across all four settings. Both shirt cases have different resolved prompts. Each case uses the same garment and avatar, but the complete set is a comparison of selected outputs, not a controlled benchmark. [5]
